I can’t believe how quickly the last 6 weeks have flown. It is now only 2 weeks to settlement and we will be in our new home. Still packing but not much to do now. We have taken lots of stuff to our storage unit in Dromana  so all should be able to go smoothly. Fingers crossed. Bye for now.

I haven’t written much lately as just about all my spare time is spent packing our many possessions . Finding stuff we have forgotten about, but all is going well I hope. Today I start to tackle the kitchen. not really wanting to do this room, I think it will be the hardest, as we have many cupboards to clear out. Well of to pack now. Bye

Well we have done it. We have sold our home of 39 years and have brought a new home in Safety Beach. Yes with much excitement we are moving in around 7 weeks. Lots of packing etc. to do and deciding what to take and what not to take. There has been quite a lot of stuff to get rid of.  Still more to do, keep reading.

Hi folks it’s been quite a long time since I have written here. Lots has happened and lots is about to happen in the Allan household.

Saints lost the grand final. Not good. Christmas has come and gone also the New Year. We are about to enter into February already, And we are awaiting another grandchild to arrive in July. The happiest news possible.

Graeme and I are selling our Bentleigh home of 39 years and will be moving to Safety Beach.  We hope it will be quick as we have found the house we would love to buy, but have to sell first. Please happen fast before it is snapped up by someone else. So there has been lots to do, lots to get rid of and lots to store away as you can imagine after 39 years in the one house.

So I will try to keep posting so you all can follow our journey to a new home.

Went back to work last week, and I must admit I quite enjoyed being there.  I was very tired after each day but that was ok.  Hoping to plant a tree out front today in our new garden.  Hoping that is, as the rain keeps coming and going. I mustn’t complain about the rain as we still a whole bucket load of the stuff.

Happy Father’s Day to all out there. I think Graeme’s day was pretty good. First he got his skype call from Nathan and Lauren and of course Casey. After a chat and best wishes exchanged , Kristen finally emerged to wish him a happy day and present him with his presents. I must explain that Kristen is a late sleeper on Sundays , so this is a raw thing for her to do. So phone call done, and breakfast eaten, we decided to go off to Costco and see what was there we might need. Back home for lunch,  then Kristen went home and Graeme settled in to watch his beloved Saints take on Collingwood. A great win by the Saints (28 points).

So I think all is well in the Allan household, and we wait to see who will play Graeme’s team in the next final.

Today is a day of great happiness and sadness in the Allan family. You see the 1st of September is the birthday for my three grandchildren. 2007 brought us the early birth of my grandsons Charlie and Jackson, sadly they were so small they weren’t with us long and now live forever in our hearts and thoughts. I think of that day and of course wonder what they would be like today if they had survived. I have a little tear and then a small smile for them but then we have to move on, as everyone tells you, but they will always be with me this I know.

Then low and behold 2008 brought us our beautiful granddaughter Lauren. What a joy she is for everyone in the family.  She was early too, but I think she came to ease our pain on this day, and she has.

So, Happy Birthday my beautiful grand children, I love you all. Kisses and hugs and a few tears as well.

We are off to the Blue Mountains N.S.W. for about 7 days. Should be a nice break and we will be seeing things we haven’t seen before only in pictures. I will give a full travelogue of our trip when we return. I only hope the weather isn’t too bad. We have looked up the forecast for the area we will be in and  it is not too good, time will tell.

This morning while lazily lying in bed I received a phone call from my 11 month old granddaughter, Lauren. You may ask if she is very talented at that age to do such a thing but I suspect one of her parents did the dialing . Lauren was getting impatient to see and talk to me on the skype phone.  I didn’t mind at all, for as we got onto the computer there she was looking for us to appear on the screen. What a lovely way to start the day. I see her just about every day or so on the skype link. Just as well we do, as I couldn’t bear not to be in contact for so long. The only downfall is I can’t hug and hold her every day , but this do in the mean time.

Yes I am the first to admit I’m bad. After promising all my readers, ( not many I think ) that I would write regularly I have failed to do so. I hope to change this as of this week. Here I go again, fingers crossed.
