As I mentioned in my last posting, my husband Graeme is off work at home with a BAD BACK. I have been his nurse, giving help wherever I can, making sure he does his walking and laying flat on his back when not walking. No sitting except for quick mealtimes as this puts pressure on the muscles that are affected. Well I now have a greater respect for those people who choose nursing as a career. I have always said it takes a special person to do this job, having seen the care and help my mother-in law needs in her nursing home. She is 92 not out and can be a handful at times, but the nurses alway have a happy face and are there to help with a smile. Well Graeme has been a good patient for 6 days now and is gradually coming good, but has a long way to go. He is now bored to tears as to what he can do and can’t do. He is now watching videos as I type here so that will keep him happy for a while. Off to chiro. again this afternoon again.
We have a long weekend this weekend. The Queen’s birthday holiday.
Well it has been good and bad.It started off great, went to Denise,s on Friday night at Safety Beach for dinner .There was 6 of us,and a good time was had by all. Graeme and I actually walked up the street on Saturday morning, something we haven’t done for ages. So far ,so good you say.
Well Sunday rolled around and off to work goes Graeme and back to sleep I go. Next thing he is coming back through the door and can hardly walk. It is now 9 am. and he has hurt his back at work. Today, Monday he is still in an awful lot of pain and can hardly move still.Off to the doctor for him tomorrow. Hope it is just muscular time will tell.
