Today is a very sad day for the Allan family. Graeme’s much loved mother , Beryl has quietly passed away at the age of 92 years and 4 months. Beryl had been living an aged care nursing home in Mornington. Her health had rapidly gone down hill over the last weeks and we were expecting this news for some time now, but when it comes you still get a real shock. Having to tell our children Nathan and Kristen was very hard as they loved her dearly and they will miss their Beach Nan, as they called her. You see Beryl used to live in Mordialloc, two houses from the beach. Hence the name. She always thought this was a great name. Yesterday she had confided in her daughter Lorraine that she was ready to go, and low and behold we got the call this morning to say she had gone. I don’t know what happens after life but I would like to think she is now with her husband Jack, who passed away 13 years ago almost to the day. Rest in peace Beach Nan you were loved by all.
Today i brought a Jolly Jumper for Baby Girl Allan and the memories came flooding back from when Nathan and Kristen were babies, as they had one too. For those out there who have no idea as to what I am talking about, boy have you missed out on the laughs and joy Graeme and I had when our kids were young. A Jolly Jumper hangs from the door frame holding baby just off the floor with only their feet touching the ground. This allows baby to bounce themselves up and down, spin around and generally enjoy themselves and at same time get exercise. What fun the kids had, money well spent and I must add many more babies as well because we passed it on to family and friends for their children. I can just see Baby Girl (by the time she gets to use it we will all know her name) having lots of hours of fun.
