Yes I am still at home after an attempt to return to work that lasted all of 2 hours. Now Graeme has joined me and is suffering as well. What a pair we make. We both have been to our doctors and received treatment and antibiotics to speed the recovery. Lets hope they do the job.

Well this past week has not been a very good on for me,health wise that is. I have come down with one of the worst head cold I can remember. It has lasted full on for about 4 days. Usually I find you have at the most 2 days that are really bad, but not this time. It is now Saturday and I think I am improving. Keeping my fingers crossed. But wait it seems that Graeme has now surcomed to this dreaded bug. Time will tell. And to all those that suspect the swine flu, no I pretty sure I haven’t had the flu at all.

Well had the day off work as it is a public holiday today. Did the usual stuff, tidy house up, had late shower etc. Then went off to look for bathers for Lauren.I got the call from Nathan that they were unable to buy the UV protection bathers in the US.  so it was up to me to find whatever I could for my little darling. Well this was not an easy task as we are out of season here, and not much to choose from, but nanna came through with two choices .Hope they are ok. Sending them of tomorrow after work.

Last weekend , Saturday  May 2, we went off to search out the Upper Yarra Reservior Park just outside of Warburton for the tribute plantings that are carried out by Tobin Brothers Funeral Homes for the loved  family members that have passed away over the past year. Well the directions were “only a short distance from Warburton’s town centre” .  Hmmmm , after geting lost twice ,turning around and nearly giving up, we finally found the park 24 klms. past the township, and that was just by chance. We met the park ranger ,thank god, who was great ,who took us straight to the field. It was very quiet and respectful and although no tree had names on them you knew where your section was. We were very surprised how lovely the area was as we have never been up there before. A very long drive but worth it.

Yes I am back to blogging. Hopefully I will do something at least once a week. This week I am trying to finish the bedroom furniture that we purchased what seems like months ago. I have finished the bedside tables and the tallboy. Now I’m in the process of doing the free standing mirrow. I must say it is not as much fun as doing the other pieces. Too fiddly, but must get done. Photos may follow.

Today Graeme and I went to look for new bedroom furniture. Our current stuff is well past it’s use by date and seeing that Graeme brought me for Christmas a new free standing mirrow the other furniture must be replaced. A good excuse to go looking today, as it is bugging me that the new mirrow cannot go into the room until the old stuff is gone. The sooner the better I say. Well we found I think exactly what we are after,  just have to decided whether to paint or stain it. Still thinking about that .

Today is the tenth birthday of our granddaughter Hayden.  She lives in U.S. and we rarely if ever get any letters or photos of her  from her mother, we still cherish her so much. She is always in my thoughts.  Happy Birthday to a special girl and love from Australia.

It has taken me a few days to bring myself to write about the horrendous bushfires in Victoria that have been raging through our great state. The loss of life and property has been unbelievable ,the worst in our history as a nation. It’s not that we, our family,  know anyone that has perished, but I feel that some how there is a connection. We hope that each nights news does not bring more deaths but that has not happened, but we still pray for this to happen. The fires are still a horrible threat and we still pray. Hopefully peace will come soon for those who have had to live through this terrible time, and life can begin again.

Yes today is supposed to reach 44c. Not nice, we can only vege out in the cool house and wait for the coool change due through late tonight. It’s a chance to catch up on show we have taped during the week. I must make sure the dogs are cool too. They have plenty of shade, and cold water, but sometimes they do strange things like sit in the full sun. Oh well I can only patrol them regularly.
