The last few days have been to say the least unbearable. With temperatures soaring into the mid 4o’s, the days and night have not been fun. Thank goodness for the cooling system we have. What a jolt we got for about an hour this afternoon, when the electricity went out. Makes you appreciate having little luxuries. Anyway we have more to come so as I say, bring on winter, I love it.
January 26, hope everyone of us Aussies know how lucky we are to have this country to call our home.
Yes folks, after about 7 weeks of unforgivable absence, I am back to write my blog. Lots of things have happened since my last post. Nathan, Casey and Lauren have come and gone. Christmas has come and gone and a wonderful time was had by all the family. I will try to recall most of them but may not as I think I should have written as things happened. Anyway the memories will always be with me, spending time with the family at Christmas altogether was wonderful to say the least. Lauren is the most precious child you could wish for, and her first Christmas spent with us was undescribable. Of course it was not forgotten the family members that were not with us this year. Charlie and Jackson our grandsons, Graeme’s mother Beryl, and Graeme’s brother Peter. They live in our hearts and thoughts always. Bye for now.
The tree is up and decorated, now I have to get Graeme and Nathan to put up the Christmas lights on the outside of the house. Lauren seems to like the shiny balls and lights on the tree.
Just got home from work to find the house empty. You say so what! Well Nathan ,Casey and Lauren have gone to Ballarat for 4 days to visit a friend and her baby, and I was not greeted with a wide baby smile as I entered the house. I miss them already. Don’t be stupid I hear you say, well I can’t help it. Anyway I may get some Christmas shopping done while they are gone. I usually have it finished by now. Bye for now.
I am pleased to announce the safe arrival of Nathan, Casey and Lauren on Wednesday. Graeme and I are amazed at how Lauren has grown in the two months since we were in the U.S. Although we saw her almost daily on webcam it was so different to being here with her. She is so delightful to be around. Her beautiful smile lights up your day. It’s great to have them here with us. I loved showing her off to workmates today. Of course I got glowing comments on how beautiful she is and all she had to do was look cute and smile. Good times ahead.
Only three sleeps to go and the family is all back together again. It just hit me that you think all is going reasonably well then out of the blue something or someone from the past has to intrude and muck up your little world. All that can be done is ride the wave and hopefully you can land on sandy beaches and still have that happy feeling that was almost snatched from you. Love to all that read my blog.
The next 6 days or so will be very busy and exciting as well. Today is Nathan’s birthday, next Monday is Kristen’s birthday, then next Wednesday Nathan, Casey and Lauren arrival for their 6 week visit. As I said busy days ahead.
Yes after months and months of looking at the cluttered carport every time we walked out the back door, Graeme and I decided to clean, move, sweep and generally repositon most of the stuff that fills our carport instead house at least one of our cars. We bit the bullet so to speak. It took us what seemed like hours, but we managed to fill the garbage bin and the new garden waste bin ready to go out tomorrow night. To say the least it looks great, but sorry to say the weeds still await me. Maybe during the week after work.
Two weeks to go and the whole family will be together again. Yes the days are flying by and before you know they will be here. Must do more weeding when the weather cools off.
